REDEFINING CORDLESS POWER TOOL EXPERIENCE WITH HIGH EFFICIENCY FAST CHARGING
Wide-bandgap semiconductors, particularly Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN), are transforming the performance and efficiency of cordless power tools.
One of the key challenges in cordless tool design is delivering greater power output and longer operating time within the limitations of a compact battery pack. SiC MOSFETs and diodes, with their high-frequency switching capability and superior efficiency, significantly increase the switching frequency of motor drive systems while reducing switching losses. This allows motors to operate at higher speeds and deliver greater torque and power, making tools feel noticeably stronger, faster, and more responsive. At the same time, improved power conversion efficiency directly extends battery runtime and overall operating endurance.
On the charging side, GaN HEMTs (High Electron Mobility Transistors) offer ultra-high switching speeds that enable the design of compact, lightweight, and ultra-fast chargers. These advanced charging systems can fully charge battery packs in as little as 20 minutes, dramatically improving workflow efficiency, reducing downtime, and enhancing overall user convenience.
